Sydney Harbour Bridge
The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of Australia's most well known landmarks. It is the world's largest, but not longest, steel arch bridge. The top of the bridge stands 134 meters above the Harbour. It is known by the locals as the 'Coat hanger' because of its arch-based design. The Sydney Harbour Bridge construction started July 28, 1923. It took 1,400 men eight years to build! It cost of 4.2 million dollars! There were 53,000 tonnes of steel used in its construction.
